The book presents the most important lecture of Martin Heidegger "What is metaphysics?" and chapters from the course of lectures on Nietzsche. Particular attention is always paid to the very foundations of metaphysics, even when it seems to be about another, so the lectures give some idea of the position and philosophy of Heidegger as a whole. The book is not intended for a wide range of readers, even for lovers of complex mental constructions, if only because to deepen into the philosophy of this remarkable thinker one intellectual effort is not enough - an existential one is also necessary. However, for those who cannot help but think about the meaning and essence of their own life, in general, being, these lectures can be very useful, exciting and interesting. In the 2nd edition, Elizabeth Frster-Nietzsche's article "On the Creation of 'Thus Spoke Zarathustra'" is included as an appendix.
