The monograph is devoted to the study of the local festive tradition of the Veps of Prionezhye - the most isolated and late-formed group of the Veps people. Sources for her writing were the author's field materials collected in Veps villages of Prionezhye, as well as a few published and archival information on this topic by other researchers. The work deals with the various types of holidays that used to be at the Prionezh Veps, as well as their components: festive connections, rituals, customs, guest, entertainment, games, folk spectacles, festivities, festive food and methods of its preparation, clothes . A new method of studying holidays presented in the book allows to reveal previously unknown aspects of Veps holiday tradition and to help in the organization of folklore holidays in villages of Prionezhye . The book is intended for ethnographers, folklorists, linguists, cultural workers and readers interested in Veps folk culture.
