Vvedensky's doctrine of matter is set forth in his dissertation "Experience in the construction of the theory of matter on the principles of critical philosophy" (1888), which remained unfinished. However, the first part, existing in print, is a capital study and captures extensive and well-developed material. In the preface to the publication, Vvedensky writes that, without claiming a final solution to the question of matter, he would "clarify those main points of material phenomena concerning which natural science . does not contribute to scientific progress . And the second way is to make a list of them.... on which the successful development of philosophical nature is possible, and thirdly, . , to give a possible real interpretation of the main aspects of material phenomena".
