M. : Synodal Printing House, 1872. - 460 s. Ivan Dmitrievich Belyaev was a Slavophile, a supporter of the communal life of the Slavs and recognized that the land community arose in the distant past. In the unfinished Tales from Russian History (only incomplete 4 volumes were published), Belyaev gave an experience of presenting Russian history according to the Slavophile theory. The fourth volume is devoted to the history of Polotsk, or North-Western Russia, from ancient times to the Union of Lublin. The author managed to publish only the first part, which refers to the life of Polotsk and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Here are four stories: Country; People; Church; Power.
