The book presents materials concerning the long-term professional and friendly relations of the world-famous German philosopher Martin Heidegger (1889–1976) and the Swiss psychiatrist Medard Boss (1903-1990) . The first part of the book consists of the minutes of the seminars, which Heidegger - at the invitation of Boss - for several years held for psychiatrists in Zollikon .. The second part contains stenographed conversations between Heidegger and Boss; the third part contains excerpts from letters that date back to 1947. were addressed by Heidegger to a psychiatrist friend. The main subject of discussion in the book is the philosophical foundations of psychology and psychotherapy, and above all the question of what understanding of a person lies (and should be) at the basis of therapeutic activity. The book is addressed to philosophers, psychologists, psychiatrists, as well as anyone interested in criticism of objectifying thinking in medicine.
