The book presents memories of the life and work of Konstantin Petrovich Pobedonostsev (1827-1907), the great Russian thinker, lawyer, teacher and political figure. One of the founders of Russian civil law, an outstanding organizer of public enlightenment of the Victorious for a quarter of a century (1880-1905) headed the Holy Synod and led not only the Russian Church, but was actually the second person in the country. As a Russian thinker, he believed that only the Orthodox faith, which the Russian people "feel the soul", is able to give an integral truth. Pobedonostsev consistently defended the ideal of a monarchical system, calling the trap of democracy “the great lie of our time.” In his works, he convincingly criticizes the basic foundations of Western statehood, seeing its main vices in pseudo-nationalism and parliamentarism, for they “give rise to great turmoil”, clouding “Russian crazy heads” ..
