Monograph . — Perm: Perm. gov. over. Issl. Un-t, 2013. — 355 s. — ISBN 978-5-7944-2143-9 . The conditions of occurrence, texture-structural features, mineral and chemical composition of silicate rocks identified in fifteen caves and four limestone quarries located in the Western Urals of the Kizelovsky coal basin . were studied. The objects of the study were the formations traditionally classified as paleokarst by geologists - the bodies of agglomerate breccias and t. n. "clay deposits" of caves . Extensive factual material concerning the conditions of occurrence, composition and structural features of these objects. is presented. Analysis of the data obtained allows us to conclude that the formation of these formations can not be associated with water flows and for this reason they can not, strictly speaking, be called karst. By the sum of the signs, they are closest to completely altered tuphogenic rocks of the alkaline-main composition .. The original hypothesis of the vulcanogenic mechanism of formation of cavities in carbonate rocks is proposed and the morphological features of the investigated caves are analyzed from the positions of this hypothesis. The similarity of the studied rocks with the intrusive pyroclatites of the Krasnovishersky diamond-bearing region . was noted. The publication is addressed to a wide range of geologists and speleologists. It can be used as a tool in the study of similar formations found in other regions, as well as as an Atlas of textures and structures of silicate rocks spatially associated with cavities in carbonate rocks.
