Among the four fundamental forces of nature — the gravitational, electromagnetic, strong, and weak nuclear forces — there is no tidal force. However, the effects caused by tidal forces affect the movement of planets, stars and galaxies, the location of the constellations, weather, navigation, plant growth and the evolution of the biosphere. Even the idea of creating a time machine that could be accomplished using black holes runs into an almost insurmountable obstacle tidal forces. The brochure is written on the materials of the lecture "Tided Forces on Earth and in Space", read by the author on December 1, 2001 at the Small Mekhmat of Moscow State University for schoolchildren of 9-11 grades . The brochure is intended for a wide range of readers interested in physics, astronomy, mathematics: high school students, students, teachers ... The first edition of the book was published in 2002.
