In the days of the great battles of the Soviet people with the fascist barbarians, Odessa played an outstanding role in the struggle for the freedom, honor and independence of our Motherland. Odessa was among the hero cities that covered themselves with unfading glory .. Stalingrad, Leningrad, Sevastopol and Odessa, each of these glorious cities showed the world a majestic epic of high Soviet patriotism, unprecedented civil valor and unprecedented in the history of mass heroism. Glory to the people of these cities, their valor and heroism, their military and labor feats will live for centuries. The collection consists of two parts. In the first part, in I-III sections, documents and materials showing the city in the first days of the Patriotic War in the second part, in IV-VIII sections, documents and materials showing the heroic defense of the city are placed. Section IX contains materials summarizing the preliminary results of the heroic defense of Odessa .
