A fundamental guide to histology, belonging to the pen of famous Canadian scientists. Volume I contains an introductory chapter on the subject and methods of histology. The following chapters cover the structure and function of the cell nucleus, cytoplasm and cell organelles, describe in detail mitosis and meiosis, and consider the mechanisms of cell differentiation. Volume II is devoted to epithelial tissue, the structure and function of connective tissue, the formed elements of blood, myeloid and lymphoid tissue. Volume III describes the structure and function of tendons, ligaments and cartilage, bone tissue, joints, nervous and muscular tissues. Volume IV examines the histology of individual body systems, including the cardiovascular system, skin and its appendages, digestive and respiratory systems. An independent chapter is devoted to the structure of the pancreas, liver and gallbladder. Volume V includes chapters on the histology of the excretory and endocrine systems, the male and female reproductive systems, and a chapter on the histology of the organs of vision and hearing. Designed for cytologists, histologists, embryologists, pathologists, specialists dealing with problems of experimental pathology, teachers, graduate students and students of medical universities, as well as biological specialties of universities . Dop. information:This edition is quite scarce and can be found in bookish books and libraries. It seems that the Russian book has long been reprinted .. Therefore, although the information in the books from the modern point of view of medical science is already somewhat outdated, in my opinion, these textbooks are still one of the best for studying histology. The volumes are scanned by me with different quality (places are not important). Also, in some places, because of the root of the book, part of the text can be "circumcised". But I couldn’t “enjoy” library books (so that everything turned out perfectly), for a quite understandable reason ..
