Atomic force microscope made it possible to consider elementary crystallization processes on the surface of growing crystals formation of dislocation hills, the structure of the steps that limit the growth layers to a height of several angstroms, joining the kinks on the steps of the building units of the crystal. This gave a new impetus to the development of the theory and practice of growing perfect single crystals.
