Flammarion Camille . [1842-1925] Luna 1912 [pdf 184sc 181c. 13. Flammarion, Nicola Camille (18421925), French astronomer. Born on 26 February 1842 in Montigny-le-Roi. He received his own education.. From 1858 to 1862 he worked as a computer scientist at the Paris Observatory, from 1862 to 1876 as a computer scientist at the Longitude Bureau in Paris, and from 1876 to 1882 as an employee of the Paris Observatory. In 1861 Flammarion's book The Plurality of Inhabited Worlds was published, which marked the beginning of a large series of his popular astronomical works. He is best known for his books Popular Astronomy (1880) and Stars and Sights of the Sky (1882).
