The two novels presented in the book by the English writer Eleanor Glyn are written in the best traditions of “ladies' novels”, but even among them they stand out for their particularly dynamic and fascinating narrative. Their heroines are completely unusual in their appearance, in their character, and in their fate, women and just as unusual as men, aristocrats not so much by origin as by their spiritual nobility. As often happens in works of this genre, pride, jealousy and mutual misunderstanding erect a seemingly insurmountable barrier between ardent hearts, but passionate love ultimately sweeps away all obstacles and, albeit in bizarre ways, leads the heroes to happiness.
