This monograph is the first attempt in the world literature to systematically present the theory of equilibrium and stability figures, primarily non-confrontational, gravitating systems. Many of the results presented in the book were obtained by the authors with employees. As astrophysical applications, such topical issues as the problem of the formation of spiral arms of galaxies, the law of planetary distances, issues of stability of systems such as the rings of Saturn, etc. are selected.
