The book outlines the basic principles of constructing mathematical models of biological processes and methods of their research. Both models describing the behavior of systems in time and models describing self-organization in space are considered: the emergence of structures, the propagation of waves in an active environment, and the phenomenon of synchronization. The following issues are discussed: biological information and the origin of life, tissue differentiation and morphogenesis, the dynamics of the immune system response and its interaction with malignant formations, cell cycle disruption and cell degeneration.
