A young man, whose name is Yaroslav, comes on a long vacation to the house that used to belong to his grandparents. On the very first day he meets an unusual girl named Vladislava. She would like to rent a room here for the summer, and Yaroslav invites her to stay in his house. Vladislava is an artist. She is constantly on the move and only goes up the river. The girl is afraid of routine and monotony. This movement is a kind of escape for her from her fears, from herself. Yaroslav really likes his new friend and he decides to prove to her that everything depends on the person himself, that we ourselves make our life monotonous or fill it with events. The young man hopes that Vladislava will stay with him and stop his escape.
