There is a widely held belief that the only kind of knowledge is scientific knowledge. This belief is often coupled with the notion that scientific knowledge is obtained when a scientist follows a highly refined and rigorous investigative procedure known as the scientific method. However upon closer examination, what we know as "the scientific method" rests fundamentally on the use of highly refined human judgment directed toward certain questions about the natural world.
