OECD's economic assessment and forecasts for the OECD area as of June 1994. The detailed forecasts cover 1994 and 1995. There is also a medium-term reference scenario making projections to the year 2000 for GDP growth, inflation, unemployment, short-term interest rates, government budget balances, and current balances for OECD Europe, Japan, Germany, and the United States. For the first time, there is a chapter on Mexico, but there is not yet a great deal of statistical information on Mexico. This issue includes sections focusing on the special problems currently being faced in bond markets, economic cycles in the context of recent experience, and the findings of the OECD Jobs Study.
