The Blue Book: Smart Sustainable Coastal Cities and Blue Growth Strategies for Marine and Maritime Environments” aims to address global challenges of sustainability and health in cities, coastal areas, marine ecosystems and maritime environments. It presents a unique combination of new ideas, expert knowledge and research results on a variety of related fields, such as naval architecture, marine engineering, biomedical informatics, public health, architecture engineering and building physics, nanotechnology as well as ecology and innovation. It is composed of 12chapters written by eminent researchers and practitioners from Australia, China, Israel, Bangladesh, Luxemburg, Germany, France, Portugal, Malta, Italy, Cyprus and Greece. Some chapters include research results, which have been produced recently within the new cutting-edge EU programme called “Healthy Ship 4U” (GA: 101069937).
