The present volume will, the compilers hope, fill the gap created by thegrowing need for a Khmer-English dictionary which is reasonablycomprehensive, accurate, and, above all, usable. No dictionary can beperfect or complete, and we are aware of the many faults, shortcomings,and inconsistencies of our work. We hope that future editions willprovide more examples and etymological material from other Mon-Khmerlanguages. We hardly need say that constructive criticism, corrections,and suggestions will be welcomed.
