The present book originated as lecture notes for my courses Ordinary Differ-ential Equations and Dynamical Systems and Chaos held at the Universityof Vienna in Summer 2000 and Winter 2000/0, respectively.It gives a self contained introduction to the field of ordinary differentialequations with emphasis on the dynamical systems point of view. It onlyrequires some basic knowledge from calculus, complex functions, and linearalgebra which should be covered in the usual courses. I have tried to showhow a computer system, Mathematica, can help with the investigation ofdifferential equations. However, any similar program can be used as well.
