Plotinus' accounts of the religions and cults of his age, 250 AD. He was critical of Gnostic Christian heretics who preached mystical dualism of the divine, which he regarded as antiphilosophical, un-Greek, and emotional superstition. He believed one could achieve spiritual union with the good through philosophical reflection.
