Scientist Gary Seldon, the founder of the new science of psychohistory, in his works proved the inevitability of the collapse of the Galactic Empire, uniting millions of inhabited worlds. To prevent humanity from falling into the abyss of impending chaos, Seldon developed a detailed plan for the birth of a new Empire on the ruins of the old one. In order to carry out his Plan, Seldon created two academies in different parts of the Galaxy, uniting the best minds of mankind. Nothing seemed to prevent the realization of the great Plan of Seldon, but human ambitions led to a conflict between the Academies, and humanity once again found itself on the brink of a precipice.
