"A Doctor's Fate: or Hospital No. 6" is one of the most famous stories of the famous Russian writer Anton Pavlovich Chekhov. The story tells about the injustice, indifference and cruelty of the medical care system in Russia at the end of the 19th century. The main character, doctor Khobotov, works in psychiatric hospital No. 6, where patients are kept in extremely cruel conditions. Because of his attempt to improve the conditions in the hospital, the doctor gets into a difficult situation that leads to unpredictable consequences.
