The usually black night sky of August was brightened by explosions of thousands of fiery fireworks. Meteorites, hundreds of them rushing across the entire sky, were lost beyond the horizon. Many, but not all. From the panoramic window on the top floor of the building there was a beautiful view of the once calm waters of the Gulf of Finland, now seething like a devil's cauldron. The entire space of the city in front of him shone with the reflections of the beginning fires. Meteorites showered the night streets with white flowers, giving rise to more and more new flames. And just a few hours ago the city lived a normal daily life, unaware of the impending disaster.
