Social instinct: confession of an alien
after payment (24/7)
(for all gadgets)
(including for Apple and Android)
In an unnamed country, a law “On the Right to Life” has been adopted, guaranteeing those who wish it a voluntary and dignified death. The authorities are implanting a chip that, in addition to storing passport data, also reads health indicators. The infirm and pensioners are offered: “Write your name in the history of the country!”, because there is nothing to pay for pensions and benefits. Those who agree to euthanasia are placed in luxurious boarding houses with parks and swimming pools, given a year to record important memories, “rest before the journey,” and go on to “eternal life,” freeing the economy from the burden of their own lives. They are just aliens. And those who want to wait for natural death vegetate in fenced-in ghettos of ruins, they are guaranteed gruel and disinfection once a week. Was? There was something in classic dystopias, something in the novel “Akimuda” by Viktor Erofeev. However, the Hero of the story “Social Instinct” is saved in his own childhood, irresponsible and without consequences, and takes the reader from childhood memories to the conditional near future.
