In the article, a strategic partnership between the state and business is defined as long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation of partners in the economic and managerial spheres of activity, focused on achieving the strategic goals of the socio-economic development of the country and its regions, based on the joint use of resources belonging to them, the implementation of common and agreed special interests, their mutual responsibility. It is substantiated that in modern practice, various forms of strategic partnership between the state and business are in demand: public-private partnership, used for the production of public and private goods and services in a wide range of economic activities; partnership related to the spatial development of the economy of the country and its regions through the use of tools such as clusters, special economic zones, priority development areas.
