“The Dying Confession” is a poem by the talented Russian poet, translator and literary critic Apollo Aleksandrovich Grigoriev (1822 - 1864).*** This work describes the last hours of the life of a lonely and proud man. Next to him is his only friend, with whom he shares his experiences and memories before his death. Other famous works of Apollo Grigoriev are “Up the Volga”, “Robert the Devil”, “Hamlet” at a provincial theater”, “Another of many”, “The Great Tragedian”, “Leaves from the manuscript of a wandering sophist”, “Poems” , “Poems”, “Prose”. Despite the fact that Apollo Aleksandrovich Grigoriev was not particularly popular among readers, his work was highly valued by Dostoevsky. In addition, Grigoriev translated into Russian the works of Byron, Moliere, Shakespeare and other geniuses of world literature.
