The story begins during the First World War, 1914–1918. The musician Thomas ends up at the front, where he loses his friends, his emotions, but never loses his faith and desire for victory. Under the command of Paul Dalton, they set out to capture Nazi territory near Verdun, but soon suffer a fatal defeat. Then the story moves back 6 years, showing Tom’s happy, but at the same time tragic childhood. Nancy Grosso, the guardian of Tom and his sister Abigail, took care of them from an early age after the loss of their parents; it was this woman who saved our heroes. Soon irreparable consequences will happen to our hero, which will radically change his thinking, but not his principles.
