In bringing to the attention of readers this interesting book written by the daughter of the famous, recently deceased Italian scientist Cesare Lombroso, we consider it necessary to note that many of the views expressed by the author must be accepted with caution or reservations. We, however, do not find it possible to make notes in those places where P. Lombroso falls into purely feminine exaggerations or comes to too one-sided conclusions from the facts, since this would mean entering into polemics with the author. Confining ourselves to these general remarks, we hope that it will not be a useless reminder of the need to make a certain adjustment to some rather bold statements of the author of this book.
