Jaan Kross (1920–2007) is an internationally renowned Estonian classicist. He was nominated for the Nobel Prize several times. Poet and prose writer. Many of the writer’s works were translated into Russian and published in the USSR in huge editions, such as one of the historical novels “The Imperial Madman” (1978, Russian text - 1985). Children's fairy tale “March Bread” (1973, for the first time in Russian - 1974) takes you back to the Middle Ages. Directly from the Town Hall Square of the Old Town, where today you can go up to that same old Pharmacy... And ask for a cure for human unkindness and stupidity...
