The play “Walpurgis Night, or the Commander's Steps” is the only dramatic work preserved in its finished form. Erofeev either abandoned the rest without finishing halfway through, or simply lost them irrevocably. In the play, Erofeev created a mirror of social life that not everyone liked. He depicted Soviet society as it was, without changing anything.
