There were strange people in the temple. About a dozen men in long dark robes and hoods pulled over their heads stood in a semicircle in front of the altar located immediately below the statue of Set. There was a man standing in front of the altar; it was Harvey Fletcher. He was also wearing a cassock, with the hood pulled back to the back of his head. His eyes glowed with a fanatical fire as he raised both hands high, in which flashed a jewel-encrusted ritual dagger. Only now did Allison notice that the altar was not empty.
