Alexey Andreevich Anselm died on August 23, 1998 in Boston, at the age of 64. Experts call him one of the largest Russian theoretical physicists of the second half of the twentieth century. Everyone who was lucky enough to meet and talk with Anselm remembers his rare common culture, which does not always coexist with his natural scientific talent. Relatives and friends knew another quality of this man: his artistry, his amazing personal charm. Anselm was an excellent conversationalist, responsive, engaging, able to listen, object and agree. His quick, active thought did not avoid any of the problems of our time. He was kind and remarkably simple by nature. Almost everyone who was friends with him, including the younger ones, called this gray-haired professor Alyosha - at his insistence. However, Anselm’s simplicity did not degenerate into familiarity. In a word, he was a great man, one of those who do not meet often and whose friendship you perceive as a gift. For seven years, from July 1991 until almost the day of his death, Anselm spoke on the radio waves of the BBC Russian Service. Xi in the "Paradigm" program: he explained to the listeners of this radio magazine the meaning and significance of the achievements of modern science, mainly physics and cosmology. Anselm's voice was heard in Paradigm even after his death. We present some of these conversations to your attention. Anselm's interlocutor is the presenter of "Paradigm" Yuri Kolker.
