The old house continues to harvest its sinister harvest of souls. The heroes of this story are teenagers. We all love to deceive ourselves, we long for a miracle, we see and hear something that is not there, but we want it to be just that way. Is this why it is sometimes so easy for evil creatures to catch a person with bait? Promise a person something unrealistic, but so desirable, and he will trustingly follow the illusory promise, forgetting about logic and intuition, without thinking that the person who deceived him once may do the same thing another time. The hero of this story was a boy. But how often can we, adults, discern lies behind sweet promises? Why, even when we feel that we are being deceived, are we ready to believe anyone but our own feelings?
