The personality of al-Ghazali is surprising in that he was not only a theorist of various religious and scientific disciplines and a cultural scientist, but also a practitioner and religious ascetic. He was a researcher of the sacred secrets of the human psyche. In his works, he appears as an expert on the inner world of people, a deep psychologist and healer of human souls, thanks to which his works became known far beyond the East. This publication presents some of the speeches, sermons and instructions of Imam al-Ghazali, as well as those translated into Russian for the first time the language of his treatises “Letter to his son” and “Exploring traces of pride and deceit in a person”, brilliantly conveying the main psychological and pedagogical developments for personal improvement.
