Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov is a famous Russian commander, an outstanding military theorist, strategist and tactician, who was in many ways ahead of his time. Streets, avenues, squares are named after him, monuments to him have been erected throughout Russia and beyond, Suvorov schools have been created, museums of the commander have been opened, one of the highest Russian military awards bears his name. Suvorov enriched military practice with stunning examples of successful actions in difficult conditions, and military science with new ideas, which together constituted the famous “Science of Victory.”
