Selected poems from the collection “Spiritual Poems.” “Spiritual Poems” is a paradoxical commentary on the scientific works of S. S. Averintsev. It talks about what inevitably remained “outside the brackets” of the monograph or article. This is not the poetry of a scientist, and in no way “scientific poetry,” but a special type and experience of the confessional word: “Here I am all...” The very name of the first collection of poetry by Sergius Averintsev, which included poems that differ in form and time of writing, refers to traditions of folk spiritual chants, which are distinguished by exceptional frankness and sobriety of sacrum experiences. However, in adhering to the canons of spiritual verse, the author is not a follower, but rather a student. After all, the very concept of “author” is not very precise here; anonymity in this case does not lie in hiding the name, but in overcoming the “poetic loneliness of the self,” in the desire to move away from experience to an event, from fact to essence, from oneself to the Other. Among the variety of explicit and hidden quotes and contexts in “Spiritual Poems,” the entire world culture stands before the thoughtful reader. But it is not an end in itself; behind it a more important reality is revealed, in which there is only one answer to “weakness without measure” - the same immeasurable and unlimited mercy.
