The story features aliens - the Rolls and a simple American guy, Chuck Doyle. The Rolls, on the advice of businessman Metcalf, began to grow fantastic “money trees,” thinking thereby to make humanity happy. But realizing that Metcalf deceived them by simply pocketing the dollars they had grown, the aliens leave Earth. Chuck Doyle, who happened to be present when the Roll ship departed, thinks bitterly: “If they had met not Metcalfe, but someone else who thinks not only about dollars, now trees and bushes could grow in rows all over the Earth, giving humanity everything , which we still have no idea about... He continued on his way, thinking that the hopes of humanity had never come true, destroyed by greed and malice.”
