Plato (42847 AD.) before n. e. ) was a famous wrestler, and the name by which he is known to us was his wrestling nickname. It means "wide" and apparently alludes to his shoulders (or forehead, as some claim). The future philosopher twice won the Isthmian Games, but it seems that he did not succeed in the Olympic Games.
