A merciless satirist and a subtle lyricist, brightly and with impeccable taste, glittering with all facets of talent Sasha Black (A. M. Glikberg, 1880-1932) was extremely popular in Russia at the beginning of the 20th century. His sharp, merciless satires were sought in the fresh rooms of “Satyricon”, they knew by heart, they argued about him and admired him. Sasha Black lived not a very long, but rich and fruitful life. There was also a war in which he volunteered and which he recounted in verse, and a revolution which he resolutely refused to accept, and emigration, which was not easily given to him. But he was always true to himself, remained a true poet, who did not deviate from his creative principles. Maybe that’s why his poetry is still alive. Moreover, it is topical, fresh, ironic .. Open the book and you will see familiar situations, familiar faces. You will laugh, frown, ponder these verses will not leave you alone, they will be remembered, they will require you to re-read them. They will be with you forever.
