I was desperately floundering, and the glare on the surface of the water was getting further and further, the twilight around me was thickening. A sharp pain pierced the head, as if a red-hot metal rod was stuck into the ears. I was terrified .. Water poured into the mouth and nose. My eyes went dark and I lost consciousness.
