The collection includes materials of scientific and practical conferences held by the Department of Folk Instruments in different years. The collection was based on the reports of the scientific and practical conference "People's Instruments: Actual Problems of Pedagogy and Concert Performance" (Petrozavodsk, December 19-20, 2014 . ). The range of issues under consideration is wide: from the history of the existence of Russian folk instruments in different national cultures to the actual tasks of modern music education and concert practice. A special place is occupied by research devoted to the music of the XX-XXI centuries for folk instruments. The collection is addressed to a wide range of readers interested in the history and modern practice of performing on folk instruments.
