The second book of the first volume of the "History of literature of Germany of the XX century" is devoted to the literature of the Weimar Republic and the Third Reich. The paper discusses the main problem-thematic and artistic-aesthetic constants of the literary process of these historical periods. and also explores the content and style originality of the main currents , Schools and groups , the picture of the literary development of Germany of that time (modernism , "The New Deal" (CM) Proletarian-Revolutionary Literature , "Conservative Revolution" , Flkisch National Literature et al . ) and were in a relationship of both complementarity and irreconcilable opposition. Part of the review chapters is devoted to important genres for that era (radio play, cabaret, children's literature, etc.) ). The work of writers in monographic chapters is studied in close connection with the socio-cultural realities of those years, taking into account the genesis and impact on subsequent generations of writers. The study is conducted with the involvement of the historical and literary context of related German-language literatures. Genetic relationships and typological parallels of German literature with other European literatures are shown.
