The training manual consists of five lessons on sports topics and reflects the main types of speech activities: reading, listening, speaking and writing. For each lesson, a dictionary and exercises for mastering professional sports vocabulary are given . To texts and some exercises there are audio recordings, read by native English speakers. A separate block is devoted to the repetition of basic grammatical structures, and training exercises are compiled using professional vocabulary and have a communicative orientation. When creating the manual, the materials of the textbooks “Sports” (by Virginia Evans, Jenny Dooley, Alan Graham, Express Publishing, 2012) and “English for Physical Education” (author.) were used. E.
