At the beginning of each section of the textbook contains a description of the state of historical science at various stages of its development. Theoretical sections of the manual are supplemented with fragments of historical works, official documents of the authorities, letters and memorandums reflecting the main stages of the development of historical science and its relationship with power. The main attention is paid to the main trends in the development of historical science, changes in which were inextricably linked with fluctuations in the political course determined by the leaders of the country. Documents are systematized by sections, according to the topics of seminars on the course of historiography of national history (1917 . the beginning of the XXI in . ). They can be used both in seminar sessions and in the independent work of students .
