These guidelines are intended for laboratory classes of students on the program of the course "Biology of forest animals and birds with the basics of hunting" (profile "Forestry") . In the process of studying this discipline, students should master practical skills in determining the ancestral and species morphological characteristics of forest birds and mammals using this determinant. It is developed in an expanded version based on a previously used laboratory determinant compiled by prof. E. N. Martynov, and other general determinants, taking into account current trends in zoological systematics and requirements for professional training of forest specialists .
