The manual contains a description of five laboratory works on the topic “Light diffraction” of the course of general physics “Optics” and, in addition, four laboratory works of a modular workshop .. The manual provides a theoretical introduction with a brief description of the basic concepts and patterns of light diffraction. Descriptions of the rest of the laboratory work are given in the 1st (theme "Electromagnetic waves and geometric optics") and 2nd (theme "Interference of light") parts of the laboratory workshop . The purpose of the workshop is to get acquainted with the main phenomena of optics and methods of work both on modern optical equipment and on a specially prepared laboratory optical complex LOK-2 . Great importance is also attached to the possibility of independent observation and study of physical phenomena and regularities .. Intended for 2nd year students of all faculties.
