The story “Trainees” by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky was published in 1962, and since then has enjoyed deserved popularity among all admirers of the talent of the brotherly tandem. But there is one place in this story in which the authors left the opportunity for readers to rack their brains over the possible development of the plot. This refers to the “Martian” part of the epic, where the action ends at the most interesting point. A short text - “Martian Secrets” - is the author’s attempt to answer a number of questions that he did not find in his time in “Trainees”. The positive aspect of “Martian Secrets” is that they carefully preserve the attributes and style of the story from the distant 60s of the last century.
