Janusz Korczak (1878–1942) Polish writer, teacher, physician. In addition to King Matiusz the First (1923) and his sequel King Matiusz on a desert island, he wrote more than 20 books on the education of adolescents, including How to Love a Child (1914). Died in a Nazi concentration camp with 200 children from the Warsaw ghetto - his pupils . The first complete translation of the novel into Russian was made by Muza Pavlova and released by the Warsaw publishing house Polonia in 1958 (later repeatedly reprinted). In Russia, this translation was first published in Moscow in 1992.
